Baty Butte
Parked part way up on the 7010-160 spur - being ultra cautious since I was by myself
7010-160 spur heading up to the trailhead
Baty Butte from 7010-160 road
Thunder Mountain from 7010-160 road in the fog
7010-160 spur road farther north from where we parked
This was the old log deck where the trail started but during the Blister Creek/Sandstone fire, they used it to create a dozer line as a containment line.
Connector trail to Bate Butte - this was near its junction - you can see how open it is now.
This is the baty butte trail heading north
This the Baty Butte trail heading south - the dozer line crosses it here but it kind of looks like they "fixed" this portion
This is part of the dozer line near where the connector trail (Stroupe Creek) meets the Baty Butte trail
This is part of the dozer line cut around the Sandstone/Blister creek fire
This is the dozer line that headed south from the junction. This took out part of the Baty Butte trail along the bluff
Dozer line along the bluff - this portion took out the Baty Butte trail
This is the end of the dozer line - the pink ribbon is the continuation of the Baty Butte trail - I didn't realize that until the return trip
I thought this was the end of the trail, but it continued thru this mess and headed north from there.
Mt Jefferson and Olallie Butte from the Baty Butte trail
Thunder Mountain from the Baty Butte trail
Mt Hood and Thunder Mountain from the Baty Butte trail
Baty Butte trail in snow
Old Triple blaze (boundary trail?) on the Baty Butte trail
Olallie Butte and Mt Jefferson from the Baty Butte trail
Olallie Butte and Mt Jefferson from the Baty Butte trail
Baty Butte trail
Baty Butte trail where we turne around - the snow was just too deep without snowshoes
Someone flagged the trail during the fire - too bad no one really paid much attention to it.
Hard to tell there is a trail under all that debris, but it continues past that pink ribbon - you can see the other two ribbons up higher that I hung
Baty Butte trail at its junction with the connector trail - it is a huge mess in here
Baty Butte trail at its junction with the connector trail - it is a huge mess in here - you can see a flag a bit farther down - the trail eventually heads into the dozer line
