Cripple Creek 2
I think this is Oak Grove Butte - or it could be Granite Peaks - the peak to the right is Schreiner - looking south southeast from the rockslide on the Cripple Creek Trail
The first real snow on the trail at about 2700' - on the Cripple Creek Trail
Area just above first crossing of the 130 spur road - on the Cripple Creek Trail - snow was a foot deep or more here, but well compacted. We were sinking in about 6" or so.
The deer (and elk) were using the trail as well - on the Cripple Creek Trail
The second crossing of the 130 spur road - on the Cripple Creek Trail - the snow was at least 18" deep here.
Thor playing in the snow - he kept digging on that one spot - it was where a deer had gone, so I don't know if he had some sort of scent or what - on the Cripple Creek Trail.
This looked VERY fresh, and I'm sure it wasn't there when we came up. I'm guessing it was from a Lynx or a Bobcat - didn't look big enough for a cougar - on the Cripple Creek Trail.
