Gold Creek from the bridge on FR 2209
The bridge on FR 2209 over Gold Creek
Old 2209-330 spur road - now part of the Gold Creek Trail
Parts of the old road were rather wet - more like hiking up a small creek
Looking out over the Gold Creek Drainage in the fog
We had to go over or under a LOT of these on this hike. And many of them were BIG
The old road is getting very overgrown in spots
Nice view across Gold Creek drainage - not sure what mtn that is. It isn't labelled on the maps
One of the glimpes of Gold Creek - this actually might be East Gold Creek
Bodie navigating the downed logs on the old road
Old bridge is now a logjam on East Gold Creek
"Bridge" over a collapsed mine shaft - I think this might be the Eureka 7 mine, but I'm not sure
The is a bad photo, but you can kind of see the mine support beams at the bottom of the hole
This is a flat area that was made for ???? - It is also where the blacksmith forge blower was found
Blacksmith forge blower - found on landing
Looking down at East Gold Creek
Down near the creek - reamains of a building - looks like roofing.
Rails from mine car that are buried
You can see the rails head down into the creek (behind the tree branches)
Old ore cart
Woodstove? Blacksmith furnace?
Some of the largest conks I've ever seen - Larger than a football!
